BV Cats - Cat placements as well as homemade cat blankets, scarves, toys & jewelry.


Stone Meadow with hand-grown produce.


Wagontails - homemade dog biscuits and accessories.


Ironstone Farm with an assortment of local and organic produce.


Fresh from the Daniels Farmstead organic garden are tasty carrots, Kale, Curly, Red Russian & Dinosaur Swiss Chard, Bok choy, lettuce, radishes, Snap Peas, Mint, Oregano, Basil, Rosemary, English Thyme, Sage, and Lemon Balm.


Looking for a good recipe?


Try this simple Corn Chowder!


Here is what you'll need:

  • 6 Slices of Bacon

  • 1/2 medium onion - diced

  • 1/2 cup celery - sliced

  • 1 1/2 cups potato - peeled and diced

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1 tsp Thyme

  • black pepper - to taste

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 3 cups corn

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

  • Cook bacon until crisp, set aside reserving drippings.

  • Saute onion and celery over medium heat until tender.

  • Add potato, thyme, bay leaf, pepper and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and let simmer 8 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

  • Add corn and simmer.

  • Whisk together milk and cream. Add into soup mixture and bring to a boil while stirring. Simmer 2 minutes to thicken. Remove 2-3 cups soup and blend. Stir blended mixture back into the soup.

  • Remove from heat and stir in half of the bacon. Garnish with remaining bacon and green onions if desired.

Doris’s Kitchen will be open from 11:30 to 2:00, serving up grilled franks, Angus beef burgers, veggie burgers, Italian sausage with peppers & onion, chips, plus an absolutely delicious assortment of baked goods. 100% of proceeds from Doris’s Kitchen go towards the preservation of the historic Daniels Farmstead.


House tours are available this Sunday; donations are appreciated.


Parking is located across the street from Daniels Farmstead.


Daniels Farmstead Foundation’s continuance relies heavily on our amazing volunteers, members, and donors. We always have room for more volunteers and are currently looking to add to our close-knit family. Whether it be working in the garden, selling our beautiful produce, or working in Doris’s Kitchen you can help contribute to the preservation of one of the Blackstone Valley’s historic gems.
